Welcome to cogeyed.com - the internet hub for the bike minded
Cogeyed evolved from East Coast Mountain Biking, an online magazine based out of Eastern Canada. East Coast Mountain Biking, or ECMTB,was a hidden gem on the internet that during its peak earned over 16 million hits a month! Though even then, its potential was always limited by the 'East Coast' and 'Mountain Biking' namesake. Although ECMTB never discriminated, westerners and cyclists who weren't on the rocks and roots just didn't feel as 'at home' as the true ECMTBers. Cogeyed is picking up where ECMTB left off! Create an account and get yourself in gear!

Here at Cogeyed it doesn't matter if you wear lycra, baggies, street clothes or anything in-between so long as you're on a bike! And it certainly doesn't matter where you ride. Share photos and videos, read blog posts from our esteemed contributors, learn about trails, plan rides, talk race smack, discuss commuting and accessibility, learn about trail and jump building, but most of all... pass the time between your rides!
What we've done is assembled years of ideas and suggestions in to this site with the hopes of bringing you the best of breed that the internet can offer - a cycling specific community for riders worldwide.
New features such as news listings, blogs, video galleries with repurposed videos from your favorite providers, photo galleries, rider listings, a better classified ad system, groups and more to come!
As we grow through this new transition, you will see all kinds of new features popping up. Please take a look around and see what's available. We urge you to go and post us back some of your favorite pics and videos from your favorite sites.
Welcome to our sponsors!
The Old Port Pub & Grill in Burnside, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia has always supported ECMTB and readily accepted our invitation to continue with Cogeyed. Tony Milheron of the Old Port Pub & Grill is a fellow mountain biker and ECMTBer (Soon to be Cogeyed!) who has always supported East Coast Mountain Biking however he can.
You can find The Old Port Pub & Grill on 900 Windmill Road, Dartmouth, NS or online at www.oldportpub.ca. There isn't a better place to enjoy a meal and a cold beverage after a long ride. Take the time to give back to Tony and The Old Port Pub & Grill , you won't be sorry!

Sportwheels of Sackville, Nova Scotia is another long time supporter of ECMTB, and has always been instrumental in providing ECMTB with Norco and Devinci bikes to ride and review! Jeff Mayhew was as excited as we were to hear that ECMTB was going to make the jump to Cogeyed and was also happy to come on board to help us out. Sportwheels is located on 209 Sackville Drive in Lower Sackville. Sportwheels can be found online at www.sportwheels.ca. For a great read, check out The Sportwheels Story.
You can expect lots from Cogeyed and Sportwheels in 2009 including the popular beginner rides!

Cogeyed is also thrilled to announce some new partnerships in 2009! Oakley and Outdoor Gear Canada are now on the team! Oakley is a household name associated with style and performance that needs no introduction. All the same, be sure to checkout the Oakley website for their newest gear, they've got some great stuff for 2009, especially for women!
Welcome Oakley!

Outdoor Gear Canada, or OGC may not be as familiar... though there are few cyclists on the East Coast who aren't sporting at least one product supplied by OGC! To name a few, OGC is the exclusive supplier of Fox Racing Shox, Camelbak and Giro. Now look at your kit... Oh... that OGC!
Yes Outdoor Gear Canada does have a website: www.ogc.ca. Check them out and try to find something they don't offer!
Welcome aboard OGC!

Thanks to our inaugural sponsors! We look forward to working with more companies who are bike minded!
In the meantime, enjoy the site and whenever you can, please support those who support us, we wouldn't be here without them!
Welcome to our new playground.
the cogeyed.com crew.
