Time to get Gore(y)!

By O9Man
Endurance mountain bike races or events have been all the craze locally. They are the events bringing in the numbers, they are the events that bring new people into the sport but most of all they are the events that seem to produce the most fun!

Next one up? The one, the only, the original... Gore Fest 2008.

So you've heard about these endurance races, but the name itself sounds like the worst kind of race! Doesn't it? Maybe. It's quite possible that the local mountain biking marketing department may have goofed with that one. Allow me to make it perfectly clear that YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN ENDURANCE ATHLETE in order to enjoy these races.

Here are just a few of the options you have for having a great weekend at Gore:
- Find a few friends and alternate laps in some kind of order just enjoying the ride
- Give yourself a bit of a challenge and go solo to see what you're made of
And of course...
- Drink your PowerThirst and throw down like Hell on wheels

What's nice is that no-one cares what you make of the race. Some serious racers will take the opportunity to chill and enjoy themselves while some casual riders will test their metal and forge a future in racing in these events. It's what you make of it folks, nothing more and nothing less. We all know how to have fun on a bike, yes? Then we all know how to have fun at Gore.
