Atlantic Trail Maintenance Day

Sunday, September 30th marks the first annual Atlantic Trail Maintenance Day presented by ECMTB.com and sponsored by Norco Performance Bikes, Pictou County Cycle, and Incline Sports.

This event aims to raise public awareness of the effort and environmental sensitivity that mountain bikers bring to trail building and maintenance while giving some much-needed attention to mountain bike trails in the Atlantic provinces. Knowledgeable trail workers will lead groups in a day-long work session to address trouble spots at popular mountain bike venues throughout the region. Experienced builders will share their knowledge with anyone who would like to learn techniques for creating sustainable trails.

All participants in Atlantic Trail Maintenance Day will be entered in a draw for a bike frame donated by Norco Performance Bikes.

Participants are encouraged to bring water and snacks, trail tools including rakes, shovels, pick axes, hatchets, trail saws, a pair of work gloves, safety glasses and a ton of elbow grease. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend - many hands make light work!
