Atlantic Factory Direct Sports Announces Junior Rider Development Program
Atlantic Factory Direct Sports, in conjunction with Brodie Bicycles (www.brodiebikes.com) is pleased to announce the launch of its Junior Rider Development Program for the upcoming 2007 season. Individuals who are accepted into the program may qualify to receive coaching and event/race support, as well sponsored rider deals on clothing, protective equipment and Brodie bicycles as "up and coming" members of Team Brodie/SixSixOne Atlantic.
As a development program, no prior competitive cycling experience is necessary: just a desire to learn skills and improve fitness, a commitment to having fun, and an undertaking to participate and represent the Team and its corporate sponsors at local cycling events during the 2007 season.
Male and female riders, aged 15 and under as of December 31, 2007, from all cycling disciplines are welcome to apply, including:
- Downhill/Free-ride
- Cross-country
- Four-Cross/Dual Slalom
- Dirt Jumping
- Triathlon/Duathlon
- Trials
- Road/Cycle-cross
- Urban/BMX
Riders must reside in one of the four Atlantic provinces in order to qualify. There is no minimum age requirement, however a limited number of spaces are available for each discipline.
The deadline for receipt of applications is October 31st. Parents, teachers, bike shops, cycling clubs and community groups are also encouraged to nominate candidates. Short-listing of eligible riders will be conducted during the month of November. Interviews will be conducted during December. Roster decisions will be announced early in the new year.
