2006 ECMTB Skills Camps

Back again by popular demand, ECMTB.com is proud to announce the 2006 Mountain Bike Skills Camps with Norco pro rider and mountain bike instructor Jay Hoots. Flying in from Vancouver, BC, Jay comes loaded with everything it takes to help you improve your riding skills.

This year's camps will be bigger and better than ever with the addition of an XC/Trail Camp and a Movie Premiere and Awards night. Registration is limited so be sure to register early and reserve your spot.

Here's what's going down:


  • Tuesday, Aug. 22 -Beginner XC/Trails Camp at Whopper Drop, Halifax 9am-noon - learn some technical skills, 1-3 pm we ride and put those skills to use. Cost $60
  • Wednesday, Aug. 23- Downhill/ Freeride Camp at Wentworth with Jay Hoots and Giant's Eric Goss, 9am-4pm - Shuttling and instruction on downhill and freeride techniques, lunchtime BBQ included. Cost $110
  • Thursday, August 24 -Park Street Camp at the Lunenburg Skate Park, 9am-noon, Basic/ Intermediate Skills session, 1pm-3pm, Jam with Jay. Cost $60 (Jam session is free for all camp registrants)
  • Friday, August 25- Dirt Jump Camps at the Mount Edward DJs, Dartmouth, 9am-noon- Beginner, 1pm-4pm Intermediate. Cost $60 per session.
  • Saturday, August 26- 6pm Awards and Movie Premiere at the Old Port Pub, Dartmouth. This will be the East Coast premiere of two mountain bike flicks, "Stripped" and "Clorophilla" plus one other movie TBA. The movie night is free for all registered camp participants and $5 for everyone else. Please bring a non-perishable food bank donation.

Registration starts on Friday, August 4th at Sportwheels, 209 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Avoid disappointment and register early. Whatever you like to do on your bike, you won't want to miss this experience.
