Summer Kick-Off Jam Session 2
Location: Miramichi Sk8 Park
Date: June 25, 2005

New for 2005:
The proceeds from this year's Summer Kick-Off Jam Session will be going to two non-profit organizations in the Miramichi area, the Miramichi Physically Disabled and Handicapped Association and the Miramichi Sk8 Park Committee. Some people will notice that the registration cost has gone up from last year, but there are also going to be way more prizes. Plus, we are helping out a couple of great community organizations that help really help out Miramichi.
Categories:
MTB: Beginner, Advanced
BMX: Beginner, Advanced
Everyone is welcome to enter - you don't have to be the best to win a prize. Riders with 2 or more years of experience are encouraged to enter in the Advanced category. Riders we feel are at an advanced level but register for Beginner may be moved up at our discretion. If a rider is out-skilled by riders in the advanced category, they may be moved down. This means that the categories should be very fair, giving everyone the best chance at placing.
Date/Time: June 25, 2005/6:00 p.m. (Rain Date: June 26, 2005/1:00 p.m.)
Entry Fee: $20 for all participants. Anyone who would like to be entered into the draws throughout the evening may also pay the entrance fee, but choose not to enter.
Registration: Registration will be held from 4:00 pm until 5:30pm on June 25th. Registration will begin at 12:00 p.m. on June 26th if needed.
Format: Riders will ride with 3-4 other riders from their category on the park at a time. Riders will complete two 5-minute jams.
Judging: Winners will be select by all participants of the competition (rider voted).
Prizes: Prizes will be presented to the top 2 riders from each division. Prizes will also be given to the riders who do the best trick in the bike Division (MTB or BMX) You don't have to be the best rider to win, there will be many prizes given out throughout the night!!!!!!! So register for your chance to win.
(Example: longest skid, highest hop, etc.)
Rules: MTBs must have a single front chain ring or a Bashguard. The term for these bikes at the park is trials/urban trials. This is to protect the equipment from more damage that would not be caused by Skateboards and BMXs. All riders must wear a helmet whenever riding their bicycles inside of the park fence. Remember that it is the law in New Brunswick to ride with a helmet at all times. Body/arm pads are not required but are recommended. All other Skatepark rules are clearly posted in the park. If any rules are broken, the person in violation of the rules will be asked to leave with the forfeiture of his or her registration fee.

More info: This Jam is meant to bring the bikers of the East Coast together for a GREAT night of riding. The Jam Session will go down under the powerful lights of the Miramichi Sk8 Park. There will be a canteen set up by the Miramichi Sk8 Park Commission selling some food and refreshments, as a fundraiser to keep improving the great park we have. Tons of fun should be had by all, whether you come out just to visit and watch some amazing talent rip on the park, or whether you decide to ride along with your peers. This night is not meant to be a competition, but to be a fun night. There are no losers when you come to this event, because we will all walk away from the night, having had a great experience. Keep the rubber side down, and keep reaching for your goals! -Jason Carroll
