Jay 'Hoots' Honoured at 6th Annual North Shore Sports Awards

Port Coquitlam, BC - On April 5th, 2005, Norco Factory Team rider, Jay 'Hoots' Krantz was honoured with the groundbreaking, North Shore Mountain Bike Community Stewardship Award at the 6th Annual North Shore Sports Awards in North Vancouver, BC.

The Community Stewardship Award was created by the North Shore Mountain Bike Events Society to recognize some of the unsung heroes of our community. The society felt that Jay was the ideal recipient because he embodies stewardship as a lifestyle through his tireless volunteer efforts and exceptional work with youth.

"Jay gets young people excited about riding," says Rose Melzer, North Shore Mountain Bike Events Society (NSMBES) director. "He also teaches them how to build and maintain safe dirt jump parks in their local communities. He has become a solid role model for our youth in the cycling community, and we wanted to recognize his efforts."
