New Brunswick Scene Report

by Jeremy Sherriff
This is what's going down in New Brunswick for February.

Well I will start out with my home city Saint John. Not a lot has changed. Still lots of snow here and there - pretty much everywhere so ya really can't bike anywhere without getting a wet ass or a really salty bike. But there are a few pretty clear parking lots that you can ride. Ya, I know, parking lots aren't really that cool to ride but when you've been inside for 2 months just looking at your bike and staring at the snow to make it melt faster, hell any riding is good riding.

Now's a good time to catch up on those 180s, 360s, stalls and bar spins. Anyhow, since we don’t have a skate park we don’t have any comps coming anytime soon or any trails worth riding but we have parking lots, a lot of them and for riders who love parking lots it's all gravy. I have seen the number of bikers my age decreasing because there is absolutely no stuff to ride in Saint John. But at least there's MARIMACHI with the best park ever. Can't wait to go up this year - it's gonna be so sweet... LIKE BUTTA.

Xtreme in Campbellton says, "Just to let you know that we are already getting organized for this summer. NOTHING OFFICIAL yet but we have already started to work on our DH race for Campbellton. We will be hosting the Provincial Championship this summer and trying to organize our biggest race ever. We already know that some big names and teams should show up. We will try to have new sections and get some jumps made. Should be even bigger and better."

Just when I thought the snow would be gone we had 2 days of snow and now its cold and snowy all over again. Oh well I guess it time to rebuild my bike again, 4 time this month. Well that’s February.

Have info about something happening in New Brunswick? PM K2rider!
